Response: Car Launches off Lake Shore DriveSaugatuck Township Fire District responded to a call for a car that launched off the end of Lake Shore Drive in Saugatuck. The next day we were on scene again to ensure the safe removal of the car from the bank.

Saugatuck Township Fire District has experienced a 67% increase in motor vehicle incidents, with much of the increase being attributed to distracted driving. AAA Michigan awarded the STFD a Traffic Safety Grant in the amount $9051 to purchase a new Genesis Edraulic extrication tool. In this video we demonstrate the advantages of the new tool over the 25 year old Amkus tool.

We strive to continuously improve our skills to better protect our community. In this recent training, we practiced Ice Rescue in Goshorn Lake.

One of the community activities we enjoy supporting is the Saugatuck Venetian boat parade and fireworks. We staff several fire boats for the event and enjoy the front row view!
